This project was designed by the Award Winning- Anderson Anderson Architecture team from Seattle. Natural light and functional design combine with extreme temperatures and ice/snow management. The steel frame structure and insulated roof and wall panels create durable shelter for the harsh winter environment. The project is located on a remote building site and will be used as a mountain retreat for a young family in New York City.
At just under 2,000SF of living area, the home takes advantage of sweeping views toward the Hunter Mountain Ski Runs. Exposed structural framing behind folding doors of glass create a visual impact of strength and minimalism. Galvalume roof and wall panel finish will patina with age and provide generations of use while blending in with the rustic surroundings.
