Prefab Steel: The Top 5 Reasons to Build Steel

News Source · February 25, 2010 · Leave a Comment

There’s little question that prefab steel is the current

direction of the future of building. Cost effectiveness, efficiency and speed of
construction combined with new technologies which allow for 100% custom
buildings all make steel a very powerful option whether you’re building your next home or starting a new development.
But there are a few things to consider before starting your prefab steel project. Here are the top
five…

Prefab Steel is Green!

1. How concerned are you with sustainability or green building?
Will be you be seeking LEED certification on your project, or applying for sustainable tax credits? If so, steel is probably your best option. Prefab steel is one of the
most renewable resources on earth, and all prefab steel is currently 75-85% recycled content, and rising.

2. What type of environment is your project in?
A steel prefab building with insulated panels achieved the highest
insulation values available anywhere, with no thermal gaps or bridging prevalent
in all lumber buildings. What does this mean? Lower power bills forever, green
credits, and a more comfortable building to start!

Prefab Steel: Durable and Attractive

3. The average lumber home requires 3-4 acres of timber to build, is susceptible to fire, termites and other insects, and its integrity will be quickly diminished by extreme temperatures and marine or humid environments.
The average steel home on the other hand will require 3-5 junked cars, and is infinitely more resilient to these common issues. In addition steel is much more durable during earthquakes, floods, fires, and other disasters that would normally destroy a stick build. Insurance companies know this, and your rates will permanently
reflect it!
4. What kind of design do you envision for your project?
Prefab steel affords the highest level of design flexibility in the world. From
cantilevers to clear-spans giving you wide open spaces, steel prefab allows
possibilities that would be impossible to achieve with any other material. And
this doesn’t mean you have to end up sacrificing the aesthetics you want. With
modern prefab steel the design opportunities are truly endless. From classic to
modern, it can be accomplished with steel!

Prefab Steel: Fast and Flexible

5. Finally, where do you want to build, and how quickly? Bolt together prefab steel buildings go up faster than any other traditional building method, and can be
accomplished in some of the most unforgiving, smallest or most remote building locations in the world. Imagine having your new building up in a matter of weeks, not months. With prefab steel, it’s a reality.

Homes Prebuilt: The Future of Building?

News Source · February 17, 2010 · Leave a Comment

Homes pre-built or “prefabbed” have been around for many years. But only in the last decade and especially the last few years has the practice made its way into popular “high-end” housing. So what exactly goes on when homes are pre-built and what are the benefits and possibilities for you?

Homes Prebuilt vs Modular

In general there’s two types of homes prebuilt, modular and prefab. In a modular set up, your home is mass produced in a factory, and shipped out either totally or mostly assembled. The benefit of this is obviously that you can be in your home almost immediately. However, there are quite a few downsides to modular construction. For one, there is little to no customization allowed. What you see is what you get. Want it a little bigger or smaller? Too bad. Also, unless the site for your home is very easy to access, and you have a next-to-perfect place to put it, you are out of luck.

The better alternative to have your homes prebuilt is to go with a prefab option. In this case the possibilities for design are entirely up to you and your architect. Once you have plans for your ideal home, a prefab supplier can have your house literally “kitted” in a factory, and shipped out for on-site erection, which typically will take place over just a couple of weeks. Homes prebuilt in this manner allow for unlimited design aesthetics, can be built in much more remote locations, and still take advantage of the lower costs, speed of construction, and efficiencies of modular homes prebuilt.

Steel Homes Prebuilt

One of the most common types of prefab homes are custom steel. Don’t let the word steel throw you off though. Chances are you’ve seen some of these and had no idea that they were not only prefab, but that they were even made of steel! The benefits of these steel homes pre-built over lumber are enormous. Higher thermal efficiencies means opportunities for tax breaks and lower power bills. Fire resistant, insect-proof, and durability are making homes pre-built with steel an industry standard for low cost, fast, infinitely customizable and attractive prefab construction.

Why Choose Prefab Eco Homes?

News Source · January 28, 2010 · Leave a Comment

Why should you choose prefab eco homes when you are considering your next home? There are many reasons why these homes are becoming so popular, and the environmental and ecological benefits are just a small part of the reason. If you want to lessen your negative impact on the earth and do your part to prevent ecological damage then prefab eco homes will help you do this in a big way. One of these homes uses between three and four junk cars for material, versus three to four acres of lumber decimated for the traditionally built home. This fact alone lets you know that your choice of prefab eco homes can have a tremendous benefit to the environment.

Beauty Combined With Structural Strength And Integrity

If you are like most individuals you are thinking about prefab eco homes because they are a better environmental choice, but that does not mean you have to sacrifice beauty or the integrity or strength of the structure to do so.Steel prefab eco homes are very strong, and can stand up to even the most severe weather without sustaining as much damage as a stick built home, and steel is very fire resistant. But just as importantly prefab eco homes can be very beautiful, including almost any architecture style and design that you prefer. These homes can give you the beauty and appeal you want, without sacrificing any strength or integrity.

Cost Savings

Prefab eco homes will give you fantastic cost savings over traditional stick built homes. These homes are partially constructed before being sent to the home building site, so when the panels and home components arrive it takes fewer workers and only one subcontractor to finish the construction process. Because of this prefab eco homes cost less, both in the purchase price and in the cost of the labor needed in building your new home. You will get the attractive home that you want, and that offers superior protection for you and your family, for a price that is much lower. The cost savings you will see by choosing prefab eco homes can be quite substantial.
A Modern Home in No Time
Building a new home can be a very lengthy process when you use traditional building methods, but this is not the case with prefab eco homes. The prefab building process requires much less time until completion, so you will get in your new home much faster. Prefab eco homes can be built in very little time, because the walls and the roof of the home arrive in panels, and are put together in a fraction of the time required to build a traditional home using lumber. EcoSteel can help you buildprefab eco homes to your specific requirement, so you get all the benefits and a new home you will love.

Prefabricated Luxury Homes: Choosing the Right Company

News Source · January 24, 2010 · Leave a Comment

If you are considering prefabricated luxury homes there are some things you need to look at. These homes can be expensive, and your choice of a company that offers prefabricated luxury homes is crucial. If you make the wrong decision you may end up with unsatisfactory results, a horrible experience, numerous delays, and low quality results. There are some things you can do to ensure that you are gettingprefabricated luxury homes that offer terrific quality and a construction schedule without delays. The wrong choice can turn your dream home construction into a huge nightmare full of aggravation and frustration.

Look At The Company History And Reputation

One of the most important factors in your choice of a prefabricated luxury homes company is the company reputation. You want to choose a company that has a solid reputation, one like EcoSteel. Look at the history of the company, and be wary of any companies that are brand new, without a solid record to back them. Only consider companies that offer prefabricated luxury homes and have a reputation for quality and excellent customer support and service thanks to professionals like that Virtual Coworker. One of these is EcoSteel, a leader in the prefabricated luxury homes industry. (The images on this page are EcoSteel homes.) This ensures that you get the quality building you want, and that your construction goes smoothly and without delays.

Prefabricated Luxury Homes: Do Your Research

If you want prefabricated luxury homes, it is important to research each possible company completely. Look for customer complaints or lawsuits filed against the company. You may find information that is not commonly available on the company website, from customers who were less than satisfied with the results received. If you are going to spend money on prefabricated luxury homes you want to know that the company you are using is up to the task, and will complete the job correctly and on time, and not only that but has a solid history of completed projects. Not all companies that offer prefabricated luxury homes are equal, some are a much better choice than others and research will point them out.

Price VS Quality

Price is an important consideration with prefabricated luxury homes, but it should never be the most important one. Compare each possible company for the home you want, and look at the price and quality that each one offers. Sometimes it may be better to pay a little more for prefabricated luxury homes to get top quality results, and going with the lowest price can be a big mistake. Choose a company that offers the highest quality and support while also offering a very competitive price. EcoSteel is one of these, and can help you choose the right prefabricated luxury homes for your situation and circumstances.

Build a Prefab Office

News Source · January 11, 2010 · Leave a Comment

The prefab movement has taken hold, and is here to stay. Gone are the days of boring modular boxes and the word prefab no longer has the connotations it once held. In fact, prefab offices around the country are beginning to be noticed, not only because of the eye catching architectural designs associated with many of them, but because of the vast economic and ecological benefits prefabricated architecture offers its occupiers and owners.

What Is a Prefab Office?

First off, what is prefab? Well in a nutshell, a prefab building is any building that has been largely or entirely fabricated off of the main building site. While most people tend to think of modular buildings, where the entire building is constructed and then shipped to site, the current direction of prefab involves “kitting” a building in a factory, where the parts are then shipped out and quickly erected on site. The result of this is that instead of the small, uncustomizable selection offered by modular buildings, a custom prefab supplier can work with any set of architectural plans, greatly reducing costs, build time and labor, with you ending up with the same building you would have using traditional construction.

Why Choose a Prefab Office

So why build a prefab office building? Your most immediate benefit will be the speed of construction. With a custom prefab office from EcoSteel you could potentially be working in your new space in a matter of weeks, not months. This translates directly into lower labor costs, financing costs and the ever present time value of money. You can increase these benefits and margins even more by choosing a steel prefab office building. Steel is one of the most renewable resources on earth, and insulated steel panels provide the highest efficiencies of any material on the market, and provide resistance against fire, natural disasters, and are completely immune to insects and rot unlike lumber. So what are the benefits of a steel office building? In regards to an EcoSteel custom prefab office it means lower power bills, lower insurance costs, less maintenance, higher durability and useful life, as well as green tax credits in many cases.
