Modern Design Pet Hotel

· January 4, 2018 ·

With prefabricated steel construction, the sky is truly the limit in terms of the applications and uses of our steel structures. We were so excited to work with Best Friends Pet Hotel to create prefabricated insulated steel buildings designed to house and care for beloved pets.

For this project, we manufactured high quality insulated steel roof and wall panels that ensure our furry friends enjoy optimal indoor temperatures all year long. The facility managers enjoy the benefit of minimizing heating and cooling loss due to drafts thanks to the airtight thermal envelope on the interior of the structure.

The Pet Hotel ensures that both cats and dogs receive the best possible care in environments that are suited to their natures. Dogs in this pet hotel are given the opportunity to run and socialize with plenty of indoor and outdoor space. Likewise, the cats relish their quiet sanctuary away from the dogs. Whether they’re coming for overnight boarding, a day at the salon, or for doggy daycare, they are guaranteed to be comfortable, safe, and to have fun.

This modern, clean facility certainly puts both animals and animal lovers at ease. Its large windows let in plenty of natural sunlight and its cozy details, such a barn door, and wood finishes, complete the picture of a premium pet hotel. Doggy Village even offers spacious two-bedroom suites with lambswool bedding, premium meals, and daily room service! Cats enjoy multi-story condos and their own cat-approved amenities. After a stay at the Pet Hotel, these lucky animals may never want to leave.

The most important aspect of this building project, aside from the quality of care, is the animals’ safety. Our prefabricated steel buildings are engineered to meet or exceed local codes and are fire, earthquake, hurricane, and flood-resistant, so pet parents can rest easy knowing that their furry friends are in the best possible care.

Prefab Steel Loft Apartments

· February 24, 2015 ·

The Forj Lofts is a steel apartment building with a Minimalistic/Scandinavian design. Residing on the Atlantic coast of Delaware, the prefab metal apartment building is engineered for extreme wind loads. The Forj name is a play on words for an Iron Forge, as there is nothing but steel used for the building components. Limited staging areas for material and crew mandated a carefully executed shipment and assembly program. This residential steel building is just one example of how steel can be used in multi-family construction.

Fire Rebuild

· February 24, 2015 ·

Ultra Modern Prefab Home by Architect Hector Magnus

This amazing design expresses the strength and beauty of the all metal and modern fire resistant prefabricated home. EcoSteel Bolted Frame and Custom Roof/Wall & Trim components provide a fire resistant and energy efficient building envelope.

Faced with rebuilding after a firestorm that devastated the community, the owner — a well-respected artist — desired that his house deviate from the prominent local design language in order to bring an optimistic, contemporary voice to the scene. He also wanted the house to be an environment where he could create and display his artwork, while being inspired by the surrounding natural setting. To achieve this effect, large, expansive walls were utilized to display paintings, huge glass doors open to endless views, and a subtle color palette of materials was employed to allow art and nature to take the spotlight.

Set on a 1/4-acre sloping lot, the supporting superstructure came to the site as pre-engineered, prefabricated, recycled steel framing and was designed to be protected within the interior volume. The metal skeleton allows for expansive openings that are filled with metal-framed glass. The remaining exterior is wrapped with a fire-resistant skin of color-enhanced insulated metal panels. Overall, the concept of resilience is the focus.

Forced by circumstance, this artist residence integrated a commercial prefabricated engineered system into a modern steel home that provides a definitive edge for contemporary design in Santa Barbara and California’s central coast.

Fire resistant engineering isn’t only for residential purposes. Take a look at a custom commercial brewery created by EcoSteel for another example of a fire-safe modern metal building.

Modern Prefab Architecture

· August 30, 2015 ·

St. Helena, California

Residents and winemakers of Napa Valley, like many places throughout California, continue to seek innovation and adaptation to a changing consumer market and a changing environment. Our client understood the importance of building an efficient and durable home that did not sacrifice one bit in the way of design and modern aesthetics. They requested a prefabricated steel house with extreme thermal efficiencies, fire-resistant steel framing, and contemporary design that would be both attractive and timeless.

Related EcoSteel Project: Modern Steel and Glass Home in Danville, CA

For this 6,800 square foot custom project, we collaborated with Carlo DiFede of Napa Valley’s DiFede Design Group. Thanks to their beautiful designs, this prefab home was built with personalized exterior finishes that complemented the natural beauty of the surrounding hills. The interior of the space boasts a modern appeal with oversized windows that let in an abundance of natural light and warming sun, contributing to the home’s energy-efficient design. From these windows, our clients can look out onto their vineyard while enjoying all the comfort their home has to offer.

Thermal retention is an important aspect of any newly constructed home, but especially one built with longevity in mind. Our pre-insulated steel panels ensured that the interior of the home always maintains an optimal thermal temperature at all times, greatly reducing the costs associated with heating and cooling. Also, the home’s custom standing seam roof is built to easily support a large photovoltaic system, a necessary addition should power outages occur.

Once the project was complete, our client commented, “Ecosteel collaborated seamlessly with the building erector and our contractor to achieve a visually stunning and extremely well-constructed home. During the construction, they coordinated with the manufacturer of the exterior steel panels to replace a number of panels which had been fabricated to the incorrect size in as expedited a fashion as possible to minimize disruption to our schedule. We were very pleased with both working with Ecosteel as well as the end result of the project.”

If, like our client, you’re looking for a modern, energy forward home, give us a call today at (800) 587-6604 or submit your information here.

3030 home

· May 2, 2016 ·

This prefabricated industrial style home is the personal home of the project’s general contractor! One of the main objectives of this build was to maximize the interior space on the 30’ by 30’ site footprint. Architect Greg LaVardera designed the home with an open-spaced concept in mind to take advantage of the space and the industrialized style of the home. Using our prefabricated steel engineering process, this project managed to create 2,000 square feet of usable living space and 200 square feet of balcony and porch space!

One factor that helped the home to feel more expansive and open was to maintain some unfinished industrialized elements such as the exposed steel beams. This was not only an aesthetic choice, but a practical one as the space can accommodate flexibility in its usage. Design touches of natural materials, textures, and colors added softness and warmth to the home. A perfect balance of industrial and natural elements, such as the open web bar joists coupled with the reclaimed barn wood floor substrate, contribute to this home’s unique character.

In addition to the attractive design of this custom prefabricated steel home, this project boasts an energy-efficient thermal envelope due to EcoSteel’s insulated panels, R32 and R24 pre-insulated steel roof and wall panels. These insulated panels help to create an airtight structure that retains heat and cooling much more easily,  therefore reducing costs associated with energy consumption and minimizing the home’s carbon footprint. When all was said and done, this home exceeded energy code by 60% simply by using EcoSteel.
